The Novena to St Ignatius is celebrated in the Basilica every year with an evening Mass with the Liturgy and the homily in Basque.
The solemnity of St Ignatius is celebrated in Azpeitia on July 31 but there is a special celebration in Loyola on August 1.

Special Celebrations for Groups of Pilgrims.

Many organized groups of pilgrims coming to Loyola wish to hold liturgical celebrations and some come with chaplains who wish to say Mass in Loyola. The Shrine welcomes and supports these initiatives within the framework of its usual celebrations placing liturgical texts in the various languages at their disposal.

Organizers should know that the Chapel of the Conversion has a sitting capacity of 86, and with the adjoining sacristy (visually and acoustically joined with the Chapel) up to 150 persons can follow the celebrations held in the Chapel. The Basilica offers a much greater capacity.

The groups will be well advised to send advance information about the dates and time of their visit and their wish to dispose of the Chapel of the Conversion or the Basilica so that these may be reserved.
